Daylight Savings Time does give us more daylight…
However, our precious children waiting for school buses and arriving at school in the dark is dangerous!!!
Speaking from experience…
When I was teaching…Each day, I would arrive at school around 6:15 in the dark, and parents who needed to leave early for work would drop off their children in the darkness too. Fortunately, we were able to keep our cafeteria open…Our Cafeteria Ladies were already preparing breakfast…
Permanent DST would cause the sunrise to be past 8am more than 3 months in most states and past 9am in 18 states. It cost children’s lives when last tried! Ditch the switch with permanent Standard Time instead.
