Dr. Seuss Day March 3…

Memories…

Young readers just loved celebrating Dr. Seuss’ Day…

I so hope our Florida schools are still able to celebrate and read Dr. Seuss books…

My daughter loved learning to read…by reading “Dr. Seuss…

You’re never too old…
Too wacky, too wild…
To pick up a book and read to a child…

REFLECTIONS✨We love the month of February…

Back when I was teaching ten years ago…The political climate was not as divisive as it is today…

We did have some autonomy…And we did strive for that balance of the mandatory curriculum…And those creative fun activities….

February was one of our favorite months filled with creativity…Teaching Black and  Presidential History; with those fun Valentine activities…where creative writing was essential…

Being a Teacher Today…It’s all About our Precious Children…

As a retired teacher...I regarded our school climate...as all of our school personnel, as a family...

And with all of the issues of today, that concept is extremely important more than ever…

Principals and Our Administrators…Need to remember that….

And, especially all those Politicians who have never been in our classroom…
It really is all about our precious children…

Being together is essential for that love and care that our precious children need in order to feel safe and having the right motivation to learn….

Being that Teacher Today…It’s all About our Precious Children…

Teaching History… Holocaust Rememberance Day…

Why it is so important…

Her husband Frank Towers was a World War II hero…

Frank Towers, a U.S. officer who helped liberate 2,500 Jews from a train bound for extermination at the end of World War II…

He spent much of his later years sharing his story

Even contacted some of the people he had helped save, and either met or spoke to more than 200 of them before his death at the age of 99…

“for the sake of humanity”…
Power of Teaching, the importance of the study of History, and especially the lessons we must learn, and teach, on the “Holocaust”

Feeling a Sense of Belonging… These are the Times

This issue is extremely close to my heart...

Our precious children come to school with such hope and innocence…And in these most challenging of times, they must feel loved and accepted…

Reflecting on my own personal history, I understood how important this was…

Growing up myself during challenging of times post World War II…

I had a difficult time being accepted… Being Jewish, parents divorced…. my sister mentally challenged…

All I wanted was to be invisible…

My heart can so understand how important it is for our precious children to be accepted…

As for myself, I was blessed by junior high, where I felt acceptance with a close group of friends… especially with a dear close friend…Whose family even took me in when my mother died when I was a senior in highschool…

My Hope for this New Year… This be the year we accept those who may be unique and special…A year of Inclusion

I Will Hold Onto Hope…Our Precious Children…

Tis the Season of Giving…Yet, my heart is grieving…My many years of teaching young children of diversity…

Just a few of the myriad of issues of today affecting our precious children:

Divisiveness in the Leadership in government affecting their education and safety…book bans, prejudices…gun safety…

Conflicts in the Middle East… World Hunger and Peace….

I Will Hold Onto Hope For Their Future...

My Holiday Wishes…Our Precious Children…

First Posted December 2019…

Had so hoped for President Biden, Vice President Harris first term…

Along with Secretary of Education…Dr. Miguel Cardona would have all had a better opportunity to provide those much needed resources and programs with implementing policy changes necessary…to provide a strong education for our precious children…

With frustration, we are still waiting, today …

Many of those same issues from many years prior, especially these last four years since, caused by of all the divisiveness and lack of giving , our precious children are still dealing with gun safety, curriculum issues, teacher shortages; may have even gotten worse…

My Holiday Wishes…Our Precious Children…

Tis the Season of Giving… There is still the Magic of Hope…

And may. still have another opportunity to continue… making it all happen…

Book Bans…Our Precious Children…

One of the best memories of my teaching was when our precious children attended the Scholastic Book Fair…

It was on held in our Media Center for a whole week… Even during an late afternoon or early evening time, convenient for Parents and Children…

They were all so excited… and so proud to buy their very own book…

And now here we are today…

With all the divisiveness caused by our authoritarian government here in Florida…

Will Book Fairs be banned as well?

How much is enough???

“Thanksgiving… Everyday…”

This was my last very special Thanksgiving post from November 1st…2014…

Our precious children even moreso today need to feel loved and safe; provided with the tools that foster their Educational Path to a Successful Life Full of Heart…

Being at a school with a diverse population, I have found this time of year is quite a stressful time for the children…In addition, with more expectations from such a demanding curriculum than ever before…So many of my children came to me struggling because their lives are so difficult…

As their teacher, I must keep the rigors of the classroom curriculum moving along with understanding and inspiration…I reach out to my young parents providing them with knowledge about providing their child a daily reading and homework time…Encouraging parents to put their child to bed at an early bedtime…I use myself as a role model for my parents and children…Because, I myself have to be ready for school by 6:30AM..I must be in bed by 7:30-8:00PM…I share so much of personal habits of organization with my children and their parents…

It is my hope that I will empower my children and parents to appreciate these values that will foster their child success in school…

Some of my parents will…However many do not… Their child may struggle…

It will always be my responsibility to provide the safety and structure…Through this beautiful season of “Fall Holidays”…Providing Love and Giving Thanks…
