The new school year will be starting in about a month…Our Country, because of all the divisiveness in our politics … Congress has not passed any real gun reform legislation…And I am deeply concerned for the coming school year…
However, because of my faith, always believing in the goodness of our humanity, I am still holding onto hope…
We will make our precious children a priority…Gun reform is essential…Many of us want our children safe…We do have an election year heading into 2024…
More than 13900 people killed in gun violence so far in 2023…

The majority of these deaths have occurred in Texas, California, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Illinois and Louisiana…
There have been 184 mass shootings in 2023 so far, which is defined by the Gun Violence Archive as an incident in which four or more victims are shot or killed. These mass shootings have led to 248 deaths and 744 injuries…
